These stools look good and scoot nicely our of the way under the counter when not in use. Our kitchen counter is along a walkway to the garage and stools with more mass and a back interfere with easy movement between the kitchen and breakfast nook and pantry and garage. I like how they bring shine and style but not a lot of "visual mass" keeping our area uncluttered. My husband is 200 lbs. give or take and he eats his breakfast on one every morning. We were aware of the protruding screw issue but apparently he either used washers or they were the right length, I can't recall which. We would not have allowed the screws to protrude and cause leather breakdown or discomfort. It is not the highest grade of leather but that is not a problem for us, it is a nice dark chocolate brown which is part of our decor. I would just suggest if you have 4 like us and one gets the most use, rotate.

I really am pleased with the bar stools. I love the leather seat and that I can put them under the eating bar in the kitchen. I also like the fact that they you can adjust the height - no more hunching!
The only negative is that the screws to attach the base to the seat are leaving permanent "bumps" in the seat...maybe the screws are too long?

The items we purchased are in excellent condition, and were very easy to assemble. The only thing I was concerned about was that the shipment was a partial shipment, and we were not notified of this, and had to call to get tracking numbers and to find out that they were shipped separately.
